Michelle values the well-being of all of her students.  She makes it her priority to know every student’s name, to celebrate every student’s birthday and to allow students to engage in fun-filled activities.  Michelle does not hesitate to lead school cheers over the announcements or in the gym, to dress the part for Spirit Days or open her office for a student to be “Principal for the Day”.  Michelle truly knows how to nurture and develop the personal spirit of every person in her building.  She also demonstrates her commitment to developing a positive school and community culture by inviting community partners into the school to support the growth of the whole student.  The presence of such programs allows the entire school community to grow intellectually, emotionally and spiritually.  Michelle Shypula truly is an outstanding principal.  Her passion for learning, her commitment to Catholic leadership, and her drive for continued improvement in herself and in others has made her a leader that is truly worthy of this award.

“Receiving this recognition is quite a humbling experience, considering the wealth of extraordinary educators that we work with each and every day at Huron-Perth,” said Shypula.  “This truly is an honour and a privilege.”
