Week 2 down…

Important Information this week

·    It was a pleasure to see everyone at our Meet the Teacher Night on Thursday.  Thank you for coming and thank you for your support with our annual Book Fair—we were able to purchase several new books for our library.

·    Also about our Library:  St. Joseph’s School has been chosen by Indigo Books as part of their “Adopt-a-school” program.  YAY!!  We are extremely excited and hope that you will help us to spread the word to get more books in our library.  Please see the attached letter to parents and the link below for more information.

·   Please double check your student’s backpack and around the house to ensure that all forms sent home the first week of school have been returned to the office.  There were quite a few families still missing.  Also, just a quick reminder to ensure that all items have been paid for online-planners and excursions.

·   Some stragglers….Parents are reminded that the school day now begins at 8:45 am.  Some children are still being dropped off just ahead of 9:00 am and have been accounted for as late.

·   Our first Parent Council Meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 20th at 6:30 pm in the library.  We welcome all parents/guardians to attend.

Final reminders for IPM:

·   The International Plowing Match trip is next Tuesday.  If you have not yet sent in permission forms or paid for your student’s trip please make sure you do so by Monday.  Thank you.

·    VERY IMPORTANT!!  The busses for the IPM will be leaving at 8:45 am SHARP!  Please ensure that ALL students arrive on time as there will not be a way to catch up to the group if you miss the bus.

·    Money & the Plowing Match:  Students in Grade 4 and under are asked not to bring money with them to purchase items at the plowing match.  Doing so can cause hard feelings for those who do not have spending money and there is also risk that the child may lose their money while walking around the plowing match.  Students in Grades 5-8 may bring spending money at their parent’s discretion:  line ups for food, in particular, are often extremely long.

·    Don’t forget to pack:  Water bottles, lunch, snacks, sunscreen/umbrella.  Dress for the weather please.
